FIAMI (MCBC) MINISTRIES

Information on the various ministries are grouped by department.

 

WORSHIP

Praise & Worship Ministry The mission of this ministry is to prepare the congregation for the preached Word. This ministry destroys the yokes of bondage upon the people through the anointed dance and song; preparing the heart to hear and receive the preached Word of God. This is not for fun, exercise, or entertainment. Dance is kingdom work and a ministry that should not be taken lightly.

Music Ministry The mission of the choir is to sing praises and to minister to people of God. They also minister to our leader as well as the congregation. The Music Department assists the Bishop in tearing down strongholds and winning souls to Christ.

MEDIA

Faith In Action Media This ministry handles all areas of media (audio/visual, graphics, online presence) for FIA and MCBC. The ministry works in conjunction with the Minister of Music to maintain and monitor the sound system throughout the facility, as well as audio/visual equipment needed for travel. The ministry also facilitates the FIA Bookstore; the onsite store is open after each worship service and available online 24/7/365.

HELP & SUPPORT

Custodial Ministry This ministry assists in maintaining the church facilities and ensuring the cleanliness of the Lord's temple.

Kitchen Ministry This ministry assists the church in preparing food for special events, funerals, etc.

Security Ministry The purpose of this ministry is to provide protection for the Bishop and his family, church officials, members of the church and visitors while on the church’s property or while visiting other churches. The ministry is responsible for enforcing the policies and governing rules of the church.

Pastor's Aide They assist the pastor in areas of finance, prayer, and support for the ministry.

Men's Moving Ministry The mission of this ministry is to provide resources to members of MCBC who are moving locally. Resources are primarily people, but it can be equipment, such as trucks and dollies, if necessary.

Transportation Ministry This ministry is designed to assist those members without transportation to and from church on Sunday mornings and when the church is worshipping away at other locations.

Intercessory Prayer Intercessors are those that go before God on behalf of others. This ministry is vital to the spiritual well-being of the church as this group labors in prayer before God, pleading for others who desperately need His divine intervention.

Hospitality Committee / Holy Greeters Holy greeters are assigned to the doors of the church, greeting all that enter. The Holy Greeter is one that makes a first impression to our guests and makes it their duty to ensure our visitors feel welcomed.

Usher Ministry The Lord's Door-keepers. The ushers are a team of prayerful, dedicated servants of God committed to serving the congregation, the pulpit and the choir. The job includes, but are not limited, to the distribution of church programs, handing out tithing envelopes, handling and directing the congregation during offering periods, securing the entrances and exits during sacred reading and prayer and to assist in seating in the sanctuary. There are six departments within this ministry:

EDUCATION

Ladies of Excellence The goal of this class is to strengthen and unify the women in the body of Christ. This class helps ladies to establish, rekindle, or maintain an intimate increasing knowledge and application of God’s word so that each lady will continually grow to be the woman that God has destined her to be.

Men's Fellowship Strong, Christ-centered men are key to the building of God's Kingdom. This ministry is designed to build fellowship among the men of MCBC, while affording them opportunities to serve God through serving the church and the community.

AWANA The AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) Ministry blends Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and tons of fun! For children ages 2 to 18. More information can be found at the official AWANA website.

Sign Language Ministry This ministry is designed to assist our hearing-impaired members, as well as visitors with hearing impairments, to be a part of the worship and other church events through sign.

Sons and Daughters Classes This ministry is designed to assist and educate new members of MCBC on the vision of the Bishop Russell (as given by the Holy Spirit) for the direction of the church, the doctrines in which we believe and follow, rules and policies that govern the church and an introduction to the various ministries that operate within the church.

Men's/Women's Fitness This ministry is designed to encourage and educate optimal health, through proper diet and exercise.  The WL&FM classes focuses on the following major components of fitness:

• Cardiorespiratory Endurance
• Muscular Strength
• Muscular Endurance
  
• Flexibility
• Body Composition

EVANGELISM & OUTREACH

Missionary & Evangelistic Society This ministry is composed of men, women, youth, and young children who are saved, born again believers in Jesus Christ that have taken the mantle to spread the good news of Christ to the world. It involves the completion of the School of Evangelism Curriculum, and a demonstrated desire to be used by the Lord to reach and win those who have not accepted Christ as their Savior.

Military Support Group This ministry aids the military family with spiritual support in the time of need. When a spouse or family member is deployed or temporarily assigned away from home, this ministry is there of offer different types of support depending on the need of the individual. This ministry also keeps the military member abreast of all activities going on in the church by sending letters and pictures and care packages.

Prayer Partner This ministry is designed to assist new converts in the transition from "darkness into His marvelous light!" Each new convert is assigned a mentor/partner to help in their spiritual development.

Prison Outreach Ministry This ministry was developed to assist those that society often scorns and neglects: prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families. The focus of this ministry includes fellowship with Jesus (including teaching others to live and look at life from a biblical perspective), visiting prisoners, and corresponding with the prisoners - letting them know that God truly loves them and wants the best for their lives.

Grace & Mercy Ministry This ministry is designed to minister to those who are struggling with additions, addictive behaviors, and/or the consequences associated with those behaviors. This ministry provides a “place of comfort” for members and their family who are hurting and broken because of their addictions. Because of the level of personal issues discussed; all matters are held in the strictest of confidence(confidentiality forms are standard procedure).

Singles' Ministry The Singles' Ministry was established as a safe and wholesome place of acceptance for singles to gather in the name of Jesus for the purpose of fellowship and growth. This takes place in the form of social outings, small group studies and other functions.

Seniors' Ministry This ministry provides activities for our senior members of our congregation. It also recognizes our Senior Members once a year with a Banquet during our Church and Pastor Anniversary Celebration in July.

Drama Ministry This ministry produces plays and musicals during holiday and other special events.

CHILDREN / YOUTH

Children's Church Children starting at age 3 have the opportunity to learn about Jesus, sing great songs and do all sorts of fun crafts in an environment that's more appealing conducive to their learning. It's a time for children to learn in a safe and inviting environment while their parents have the freedom to share in the worship service without interruption.

Noah's Ark Nursery This ministry operates as a daycare during the 8:00am and 9:30am worship services. They accept children starting at 12 months. This ministry provides a place for children to interact with others while their parents are in worship. They do arts and crafts, have cook outs, and teach the children sound, biblical principles.

Teen Ministry Being a teenager is tough, especially in this day and age. And helping a teen find their way is an ever increasing challenge. The goal of this ministry is to facilitate opportunities for deeper growth for adolescents and teens as they grow in the grace and knowledge of God, as well as provide spiritual, confidential counseling for those that are struggling to find their identity in Christ.

Faith In Action Athletics

Our goal are to provide athletics to the Christian community, while ministering to the community at large. We seek to bring to the mission field, sports in hopes to foster honor, excellence, good health and perseverance in all youth that participate.
